WELCOME

In honor of the heroes who fought for equality and education, the Illinois Lottery continues its mission of empowering schools.

RAISE A HAND ILLINOIS is an annual volunteer effort during February to enrich local schools by volunteering to make a difference.  It’s all about teaching, inspiring and passing on good deeds to future generations.

In February 2010 nearly 200 listeners participated with the Illinois Lottery by joining their favorite radio stations at various volunteer events throughout Illinois.

Serve Illinois aligned Clear Channel with the following organizations who helped execute the volunteer efforts onsite. These organizations included Chicago Cares, Springfield Urban League, Academy of Urban School Leadership and the East St. Louis AmeriCorps.

If listeners were unable to volunteer the Lottery provided an option to submit $25 worth of non-winning Illinois Powerball tickets to have the donation matched to the Illinois public school of their choice. As of March 23rd, listeners had donated over $1,000 to Illinois Public Schools.
